Imagine gentle earthy pinkish blush and you will get Nars Douceur.
When I first opened it, I was like it’s ok, nothing special, what is all the fuss about him… But all that changed when I’ve applied it onto my cheeks, as if it has somehow brighten them up and gave freshness to them, it’s hard to describe. So, I’ve concluded that I actually really like these type of blushes, neutral, earthy with a bit of pink in them.
If you have a cool undertone I believe that the pink in it will show better on your skin then it did on mine, with an warm undertone. I think it is appropriate for all undertones because it leans on the neutral side.
It’s very, very soft and light so I wouldn’t recommended it for darker complexions but for light and medium ones, because I’m afraid that it wouldn’t show on darker ones.
It’s not a type of blush in which you dip your finger/brush and get a lot of colour, it’s on the lighter side and you can’t overdo it with him, unless you really set your mind to it. It’s nice to apply and blend, and the coulour is buildable, and if you’re a little darker than me you will need few extra dips to get a nice colour payoff.
After I bought the Nars palette, lipstick and two blushes I concluded that Nars has mini packaging. Much smaller than say MAC packaging (and MAC lipsticks are on the smaller side, blushes are also not too big, etc.). First thought was ok let’s see how less of the product did I get, but I was surprised when I saw that this blush has 4,8 grams while Illamasqua blush has 4,5 grams, and it’s packing is a lot larger than the NARS one. How did they manage to put those grams into such a small packaging is a mystery to me. NARS packaging is nice to the touch, soft and rubbery, but likes to collect dirt like crazy. So I’ve decided to keep all the Nars products in the boxes in which they came in because I hate fingerprints on the products, just hate that.
If you are looking for a gentle, earth toned blush with a bit of pink in it to make your cheeks look natural, Nars Douceur is your choice. It will go nicely with vibrant/colourful lipsticks because it won’t divert attention from them. Those with fair skin should also be able to use it for contouring, because it is a beautiful earthy colour, and it’s matte.
This is the most delicate blush that I have and I find it beautiful, it really is. Who would have guessed that I would totally fall for such a non colour blush.
I’ve bought it on Hqhair site and it was 21,50 pounds.
Yay or Nay?
p.s. it lasted all day on me.
